Now this is some obscure memeing that’s going to confuse seppos.
If this is a femboy then it’s SFW.
If this is a woman then it’s NSFW.
I don’t make the rules.
Isn’t that just Active Nihilism?
The meaning becomes the search for meaning?

Games@sh.itjust.works•Sean Murray is risking another No Man's Sky launch disaster, but he knows exactly what he's doing and it's kinda genius marketingEnglish
0·2 years agoI don’t believe Sean Murray and I will not be buying this game at launch or even for several years.
I still don’t own No Mans Sky and it’s specifically because I’m pissed off that people think it’s some kind of great redemption story. It’s not.
It’s a hellish nightmare indicative of the current state of the gaming industry.
Small studios have to manufacture impossible hype in the hope their game sells, then they go about fixing it, even though they promised features at launch and all they are really doing is just giving you the product you already paid for.
What other product would people ever be happy with this arrangement?
I’d really be sad if Donald Trump died tomorrow.

Memes@lemmy.ml•If you're feeling left out it's probably because you defend billionaires who would mince you into fertilizer
1·2 years agoI’d recommend posting a tangentially political meme at some point on Lemmy.
The amount of people who will come out of the woodwork to tell you ‘don’t post this’ and ‘don’t make things political’ will really be eye opening.
People don’t want to address systemic issues and think not talking about them is a viable solution.

Memes@lemmy.ml•Buying a new car is not better than keeping an old one
11·2 years agoYeah. America isn’t the world.
Plenty of countries have functioning public transport.
America is not the exception, you can survive without cars.

Memes@lemmy.ml•Buying a new car is not better than keeping an old one
11·2 years agoMy frustration comes from the fact that hybrids exist and are not used nearly as enough as they should (all cars should have been mandated as hybrids a decade ago) and this would reduce the downsides of electric car production.
I’m not defending ICEs here, I just think the overall environmental credentials of electric cars at this point in time isn’t as good as hybrids.
I fully expect this to change in the future but I’ve got entire fleets of vehicles which are less than 5 years old being replaced by electric and that makes no sense.
Also cars generally are just a terrible solution to mass transport. We already have the most environmentally friendly option known to man. Bicycles and trains.
Edit: for further information on hybrid vs electric see this analysis:

Memes@lemmy.ml•Your big brain conservtive/capitalist takes will be laughed at
0·2 years agoIt’s not a place for nuanced debate because I have no idea who I’m talking to.
I’d rather devote my time to having those nuanced conversations in real life (which I do) than trying to convince an American online through a meme community that gun bans would reduce school shootings for example.

0·2 years agoTo be taken seriously offline I necessarily have to make well reasoned and researched arguments.
Lemmy is where I come to blow off steam and just berate my ideological opponents because they genuinely are losers.
It is not a place for nuanced debate.
Garrison’s gone so far right he’s starting to raise left talking points.
You sure showed me the error of my ways!

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is an absurdity that has been normalized by society?
1·3 years agoVery simply: how can it be fair that someone who contributes nothing to the process profits from my labour?
I am the skilled craftsperson who produces furniture. And yet someone takes from me the profit of my work. Beyond the cost of materials, workshop, arranging buyers etc.
After all those costs are accounted for there is still someone else who captures most of the profit instead of me. How is that not absurd?
Just curious why you’d go to such lengths to maintain privacy.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say you’re probably of no interest to any authority. Unless you KNOW you’re doing something illegal.
To be clear I’m not saying that we all shouldn’t value privacy but, for example, could you not just keep an account for 6 months then delete?
Or are you worried that some 3 letter agencies will bust through your door within that time frame?
Every single business in existence will sell out any value they say they hold for profit.
If they don’t another business will, welcome to capitalism.

I’ve read it.
Orwell was socialist my dude.
Ever read one of his other books Down and Out in Paris and London?
It helps explain why he is a socialist.
