Even with just 8gb of Ram you can have a windows 10 vm to do the only few things you can’t on Linux. It’s gonna be really slow but if you need it once a year it’s fine.

I also discovered that these are pretty cheap and really upgradeable while looking great.
I would never buy anything from Apple new, but old Mac Pro or MacBook Pro are really tempting.
Converted my fiancée ´s 2012 MacBook Pro to Linux two years ago and it’s a great machine which shouldn’t be collecting dust.
Sometimes people underestimate the treasures they have lying around 😅
Sometimes making an iThing (iPhone) work with another iThing (Fiancée ´s Apple TV) isn’t as easy as it should. Streaming the nba app from my phone to the Apple TV was a nightmare a few years ago. Now I just use my PlayStation as the nba is hostile to Linux even in a browser.
So, taking into account the fact that Linux is free and works on almost any hardware, I can only congratulate the people making Linux possible.
I’m not really into PC gaming, but the more gaming possibilities you have on Linux, the better it’ll be👍
Fedora on Surface Go 1 with Surface kernel:
I never uses it only as a tablet except on holidays if I watch a movie on a hotel bed. It spends most of its time linked to a big screen, but I’m really happy with it except for how slow it is to pick up my mouse Bluetooth signal or the fact that the battery is often depleted for no reason when I turn the Surface on.
It is my only PC and is powerful enough to do everything I need it for, which is admin, web browsing and old strategy games.
Really useful tool!
It even helped me as my Surface Go didn’t want to boot on a USB drive, but accepted to boot on it through Ventoy.
It’s one of these miracle software 👍
