Donjuanme@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Since it won't happen the other way around, how do I get people to approach ME in public?2·10 days agoHell yes! Grandma was wild! I love old person stories, so many of them are fabricated, but also so many that I think are fabricated turn out to be legitimate. Oh you did party with (famous people from back in the day)? No shit…
Donjuanme@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Since it won't happen the other way around, how do I get people to approach ME in public?2·10 days agoI hate it as a tactic that’s been used on me, but darn if it isn’t effective. Also I genuinely appreciate people who offer their advice when I’m doing something foolishly, but my actions are from a place of genuine ignorance, not trying to catch someone into my friend circle.
Donjuanme@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Since it won't happen the other way around, how do I get people to approach ME in public?41·10 days agoDo something poorly/dangerous in the gym, attach yourself (politely) to the person who comes to help,
Or do something you’re passionate about and offer your knowledge to people who are earnestly trying their best but not doing it well (be conscience and ask if they’d like your experience to guide them)
Alternatively go hang out at an old folks home, they’d love your company, they’ll regail you with stories from their glory days, and they’ll probably talk you up to their family.
Volunteer your time at animal shelters/public service events.

My wife grades/t.a’s at a university, it’s obvious when someone doesn’t know the information in person (and she’s very understanding towards people who cannot verbalize the information but still know it). The old professors aren’t very keen to it, but the graders can very easily smell the bullshit.
And if you know the information well enough, but send it through gpt for editing/refinement, that’s usually accepted, unless you’re in a class that grades on composition.
Look back in ten years and do the figures yourself.
It’s not bad unless you want it to be bad. In ten years it’ll be nothing.

What a fucking liar.
Also I’d like to see the profit a company makes for an immigrants per day, I bet it’s closer to a thousand than the poor soul is making.
Donjuanme@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is the NFL draft day so "special"?2·23 days agoSo you have an axe to grind because of another sports success?
Or are you here “just asking questions”
Donjuanme@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is the NFL draft day so "special"?2·23 days agoThe sheets of paper are getting filled in minutes before they’re announced,
The teams can trade their picks between each other,
It’s not known what teams are going to take what players, if my team (4) thinks team 1 is going to take player A, and team 2 isn’t interested in that player but team 3 is, if team 1 takes player b instead my team might talk with team 2 about trading draft pick positions so we can get that player.
There’s a lot of talking between a lot of professionals representing a lot of teams, the whole situation is very fluid, and it might change the course of your franchise (unless you’re the Jets)
It’s also 3 days of spectacle.
Donjuanme@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is the NFL draft day so "special"?71·24 days agoThe draft is being held in your state this year, it’s the first time as far as I can recall, they want to make a good show of it so it might return some day.
Good news, it’s 20-30 years away!

Answer the phone for unknown numbers, don’t say a g-d thing, just listen. Let them address you first.
If they ask for you by name go ahead and respond, if they call back answer with a generic “hi” greeting, don’t let them have your voice or name before you know who they are and what their business is.
A robot will mark your number as a “dead line” and not call you again.
A person will either be trying to reach you (and know who you are) or trying to reach a living person, and not waste their time with an unresponsive line.

Support the communities you enjoy, and report the trolls in the comments. Block people who are trying to cause trouble and encourage others to do the same.
That’s the crux of my statement, yes.
AI doesn’t scare me.
How people respond to it scares me
And that it’s being prepared to drive/copilot government agencies scares the everliving shit out of me.
Now I’m frightened to my core.
AI doesn’t scare me.
People making decisions off of AI scare me.
The government mandating people use AI to make decisions frightens me to my core.

Edit,
The death in the video they posted was the first “boss” after the first city, also pretty pathetic to lose to, but not a required (tutorial) fight. Seeing his mechanics there it wouldn’t surprise me if the hillock (or whatever his poe2 counterpart is called) killed him.
Second edit
Musk died to one of the game’s tutorial bosses due to a bad connection, which subsequently concluded the stream, ending another sad, weird data point in the Elon Musk fake gamer saga.
The entire thing was a publicity stream for how reliable star link was, seems like if he’s dieing to early game bosses because of connection issues star link might not be suitable for gaming on…
Last edit, he died 3 times to the tutorial boss, at that point it’s connection issues and lack of skill.
That would get them regulated, they’re only going after the “correct” “bad people”
Imma have to hit you with a UAA, UGA and a UAG just to make sure.
