You do have a point. At this juncture, I think, anything is possible. Really, non of it ads up. Half is fake and the other half is mystery. There is definitely still a large leap from his actions to this ideaology.

I mean, this is just the requirement path for spousal citizenship. Other visas have different requirements. Here, You have an established couple. One person can definitely, legally, gain employment and save money for the process. Yes, it may cost upwards of $10,000 for just the residency. If ones already here illegally, and you’ve saved up that much, you could probably save a bit more and find a place to stay in another country. If this was during covid, I think the odds of a spousal immigrant staying in a camp on the boarder, are lower than for the people applying for asylum.

Honestly, anyone I’ve met, with a spouse from another country, has had no problem doing it this way. They meet while the one immigrating still has permanent residence in their home country. They commute and have a long distance relationship. They feel the risk of losing their family is too great, so they do it the right way. It’s fair, to think that idea should extend to employers, as well.

Just a few years ago, im pretty sure you had to get married, they had to go out of country and file the residency paperwork, and then wait until they could be issued a permanent residency. If they stay married and lived in the country for at least 3 years (i think they could spend some time away) , they could file to become a citizen. The residency process took about 6 months.

Biden made it so if the spouse was already in the country, and overstayed thier original travelers / residency / student / whatever visa, or just entered the country illegally, they could apply for the permanent residency without having to leave.

I live in the heat. I have to start to car before hand, just to make it so the family doesn’t melt to the seats. It connects. I switch it back to my headset. I go back in the house to get stuff to load up, and I go out of range. Get back in range. It connects again. I switch it back to the headset. I forgot something…

Rinse and repeat like 5 times before I’m good to go. Whole time, I’m only catching every 10th word of whatever someone is saying to me on the phone, thinking it lost service, or they hung up on me.

Whole new meaning to Ghost Kitchen

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I feel like anything produced by AI should be somehow watermarked at the source. At this point there’s only a handful of companies. It wouldn’t be too hard to have them all insert something into the final product that is easily identifiable. Something like a microscopic signature in a corner, with model info and date produced…idk. Not anything that ruins the image, but something that can be seen by anyone, if looked for.

If nothing else there should be a large push to inform the public of telltale features to look for (i.e. too many appendages) to help them determine if it’s created by AI or not. While not fool proof, if it can discount even a portion of the misinformation, imo, it’s worth an effort.

To me, it seems irresponsible of the companies running the AI to just unleash it upon the world without training us humans to understand what we’re looking at. Letting us see how realistic everything is while letting us know its been produced by AI, at least helps us to comprehend the scope of the matter and adapt to the situation at hand. Esp for those who don’t fully grasp what AI can and cannot do.
