Oh I didn’t know about this. Is there an easy way to check if the current setup has proprietary firmware in use?

If there’s nothing wrong beyond the hideous consmetic damage sure.
Some distros have some very specific images like this one that I would install if I had the same computer:
That’s too bad. From what I can find online there are a bunch that have in kernel drivers but I can’t personally vouch for any of them. I haven’t seen any reports of linux compatible usb bt dongles above 5.0 so far but that might just be Google’s fault for making internet searching garbage.
what kind of computer? does it have wifi already? Its not usb but the ones I always get are the intel wifi+bt units. I bought a few wifi6e + bt5.2 recently each in different form factor for my laptop, desktop, and steam deck. apart from the deck which is soldered on and I don’t have time for yet, the pcie and m.2 wifi and bt combo cards work out of the box on bazzite.
If its a laptop or desktop that has antenna on the motherboard io panel then it probably has an m.2 card that can be swapped for a bt integrated one and you could jump to wifi 6e at the same time. or wait for wifi7 and whatever bt version will exist then I guess.
yeah I’ll stick to the other way around
I watched a bit of in another world with my smartphone and it was peak garbage. I also downloaded the wrong 7 deadly sins once, unforgivably awful. I think I slogged through dog days while in my depressive always drunk phase.
actual recommendations: bna and little witch academia are my fav trigger (after infern cop obv.)
I dunno aku no hana for some weird rotoscoped shit thats kinda disturbing and stressful. The character visuals are more convincing than the manga version.
suisei no gargantia is probably the most any audience friendly mecha anime, apart from the breasty pirate literally named rackage being maybe a bit much.
knights of sidonia was probably the first all 3d anime I actually liked. I ended up watching a bunch of other stuff by the same studio and they have a distinct animation style and facial expressions that are easy to recognize as being the same studio.
the promised neverland for some dark shit, but I only saw season 1 and don’t know if there even were more seasons. The manga version became a slog for me after that point in the story but I was also working full time++ when the anime ended.
attack on titan also became a chore for me after season 1 but it was a novel experience watching it for the first time.
not many people are likely to have one but tiny cameras in various forms are quite cheap.
damn. that’s a pretty shit one.
Everything that people try to convince me is good about it just feels so counter intuitive. It also looks like it should be touch friendly, but I tried it on steam deck and it just absolutely wasn’t. We have decades of touch interface design on phones and tablets yet somehow it’s worse than the flop tablets that came before ipad. But to each their own I suppose. Some people absolutely love it and it works for them. That’s a big part of open source computing, one can chose the desktop environment with the most unlikeable devs if it makes them happy.
Anyway spin up a vm when you get a chance and try it. Try all of them if you can find the time. I find a lot of them kinda nostalgic and I really like tiling wm’s for feeling like a power nerd and making my computer completely unusable to my friends. Mostly I just use kde though.
I installed it just to see if maybe I was wrong about gnome being shit and even if it still is maybe vanilla is good enough to put up with it. I never fucking learn.
So this requires some kind of existing tracking software? Are there existing FOSS options for that part?
My current job doesn’t need time tracking (yet?, some of my work is for the sister company) but a job I worked before had us clock in and out for specific projects on a computer, but the subscription ended and we were using a UI glitch to continue using it and literally cheat engine to make it still export the files for the office to use.
honestly unless you are planning to develop for them and can improve the jankiness, neither. base pinephone is too weak for literally anything, even running that super minimal os. pro I only had for a few days before selling due to having no time for it but it was only powerful enough for me to think specs wise that’s what the original should have been for the year it came out. I kept the basic one because I already did the open source modem firmware or whatever it was but its probably way out of date now.
If this is way out of date and things have improved much, someone tell me please.
I don’t really see being poor as a tradition. I’ve seen enough people present racism as a tradititon and I don’t like that either. My dad has been facebook’d and keeps wanting to do ancient medicines because “the government took them away from us”, and has asked where to get some definitely dangerous substances. There are indeed a lot of things people call tradition that I don’t like.
I don’t think changing a couple ingredients breaks tradition when most old recipes were just throwing whatever we had together and trying to make it at least minimally enjoyable for bonus points. I guess it’s different for wealthy people in the past much like it is now, but if it could be improved cheaply or for free when it was new either due to ingredients or skills and knowledge, everyone would have done it. Some things were probably also just good enough that nobody bothered changing it, but now most people are conditioned to really high sugar and salt or just stronger flavour in general.
Actually one of my time travel fantasy wishes is to see people in the last eat the modern versions of their favourite food. I’d feel bad about shocking their systems with large doses (to them) of microplastics, pesticides, and who knows what else though.
the worst is when people are like this for a dish that was invented as a way to use the shitty limited ingredients of the area because everyone was poor and that’s all they had back then. That’s not even tradition. Or slightly less annoying is when people try your traditional dish from the country your family comes from and say its not correct in some way, but they are from one of the 6 neighboring countries with pretty much the same food but the name is spelled slightly different and have regional plants as seasoning instead.
that sounds actually excellent. I got a sack of potatoes and a deep fryer, would a pre made bottled sauce be worthy or should I just look up a recipe and do it the real way?
damn I’ve been making a new email when it gets too spammy and keep a list of accounts for changing all my accounts over
I figured as much. These are things that were given to me as an “otherwise it goes in the landfill” package deal. a couple have klipper over dietpi for my 3d printers but the rest are seemigly junk and I’ll probbaly toss them in the electronics section at the recycle depot next time I go there
yeah I think I have an orange, a mango, a nanopi, and a couple entirely written in chinese that are different from each other. Just before reddit went senile I was planning on posting images to try to ID the unknown ones but I didn’t and got busy with stuff less likely to be a dead end.
Can anyone confirm if it is indeed the case that you can’t just put whatever os you want on these things, or if it is possible by jumping through some hoops that google would never show me in favour of showing me other shit that makes them more money?
but how do I run it on confusingly named chinese sbc’s for which the only os images that seem to exist are an untrustworthy debian based system and an old version of android?
yes this needs details.
