I’ve only got a Compaq one.

I_Miss_Daniel@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are the signs you've noticed that you're getting older?English4·5 months agoHehe. On mine the cruise, high beam and fog light indicators don’t dim with the rest of the dash board.
Luckily they’re all along the top row in the centre, so I drape the glasses cleaning cloth over the dashboard to form a little curtain.
I’m in a rural area.
Separate the compartments with lead then?
Based on the past, it seems vinyl records are near indestructible. So, embedding the data in that somehow and keeping it cool might work.
Printed might also work but it’s a lot of data. Microfiche maybe?
Another option might be to use some form of nuclear battery to keep a bunch of multi TB SSDs powered up.

I_Miss_Daniel@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some examples of 'common sense' which are nonsense?English5·5 months agoHehe ok I’ll wear those down votes. I didn’t understand the reference as I heard it first on The Two Ronnies as ‘a bird in the hand is worth two in the shepherd’s bush’ which I think think might be a carry-on reference.
I didn’t see why l would want a bird in my hand in the first place.
PS - what happened to your D key?

I_Miss_Daniel@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What would a General Strike look like in the US?English13·5 months agoI wonder how they feel about the j6 release. If I were a cop I’d be just that little bit less confident that my coppiness would be worth providing.
I_Miss_Daniel@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What the fuck is going on with 196/onehundredninetysix?English3·5 months agoEdit: seems my memory of the quantity was wrong.

I think in Rainman, when the 200 toothpicks fell to the ground, Ray counted 196 instantly. There were four left in the box.
The sub name is unrelated, but that’s how I think of it :)
Time to go counting cards…
Hehe. Hence the table / index that links similar communities with some intelligence.
Maybe there should be a library of all the communities that have matching names and goals, so that an app can present them as one group with all the posts and comments merged as if it was just the one community.
The app would need some smarts so as to de-duplicate posts etc.
I_Miss_Daniel@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•When was the last time you were blamed for something you didn't do?English6·6 months agoThe cat did a silent fart and jumped off the couch. The wife seemed to think it was me. I never even smelt it.
Dude is a network monitoring tool as well.
Quadrupeds can run on the front paws better than bipeds, so the sysadmin should win.
In Australia it won’t save card details. And it can’t natively create app shortcuts for things like Gmail, keep, whatsapp etc.
I put up with it but it’s a pain compared to chrome and edge.
