  • to name a few I like:

    • Read You, brilliant RSS reader. Now syncs with Freshrss. Inspired by Reeder on iOS
    • Voice, audiobook player. I use it in fact to listen to audio from youtube videos (downloaded with Newpipe). For audiobooks (and podcasts) I use
    • Audiobookshelf (needs server)
    • FUTO keyboard with decent on device voice recognition! (exists as a standalone)
    • 8Vim, weird keyboard I really like
    • Fairemail has been my trusty email client for years. Don’t be spooked by its many options, once accounts configured the UI doesnt show unecessary stuff IMO. Some unique and useful features.
But if you want something simpler there’s K9, now Thunderbird. Although I still experience the issue with emails not arriving on time with this newer version
    • KeepassDX, great password manager, good UI, keeps improving.

  • This is what I’ve been missing the most since switching to Wayland.

I was testing again yesterday, on Fedora mainly.

lan-mouse is a bit clunky. It requires too many clicks to start on Gnome. bi-directional. Couldn’t get it to work on NixOS but I’m new to it.

Input leap can be finicky to install and set up too, depending on your system. For some reason on my setup it lags a lot, and from time to time I have to reconnect. They don’t give an easy access to builds, but you can find them. It requires to be connected with a GitHub account though.

  • when visiting my dutch family I noticed how faster “vay vay vay” is, so I started thinking vévévé in french instead of “double v” x3 (btw this is a double u : uu) I’ve said it out loud a few times by accident and people don’t question it. I think we all agree it’s a bit silly to pronounce.

I have an intense and fascinating life.
