I wouldn’t. If my ex-partner decided to have an affair without thinking of the consequences, I’m not obligated to do it in their stead. I’d be covering for their fuck up and become a welcome mat.
Having said that, I’m a product of divorce and I knew from a very young age who fucked up and why. If my parent had told me at that age why I wouldn’t go, I would’ve understood. But then again, I’m not your kid.

I’m reading Secret City: The Hidden History of Gay Washington by James Kirchick. It’s also about the Lavender Scare but the author dives deep into several cases of great government aides whose careers were ruined. The chapters are separated by each presidency, gradually construing a narrative as public opinion shaped the politics of each era. I just have to warn that, as a reviewer puts it, the book is both “exhaustive and exhausting” with a whopping 800+ pages but I think it’s worth reading every word. It’s so good.

I don’t think I’m ND even though sometimes I’m a little awkward in person and make up for it in other ways. Unfortunately, one of my aunts doesn’t think so and spent a good portion of a family meeting trying to convince everyone that I have Aspbergers because she had just learned about it and found my behavior odd when she went to ask me a question and started me. I could hear all the shit she was talking through the wall saying how antisocial I was for keeping to myself. Then years later she proceeded to wreck the family but that’s a different story, so I’m left wondering who the antisocial one really is.
I know hating on League is in vogue in some corners of the internet, but I really like Veigar. He claims to be the master of evil but hates that nobody takes him seriously because he’s short and he takes umbrage with that. His voice lines are quite fun.
