This isn’t something new or unique. Up until 2015ish whenever people referenced 10 years ago people would think it was referring to the 90’s. It’s a perception of time thing. Eventually the same will happen when we are out of the 20’s they’ll think 2020 was eons ago.
It’s works most of them time unless you’re in a specialty trade making spindle, gears, and such that must be threaded backwards to avoid the wheel undoing itself.
I just got accepted into the beta for walkscapes. It’s such a relaxing game and using steps vs distance is super nice to have as a tracking system.
Front right is wallet and keys front right mini pocket is pixel buds, milwaukee fastback, and file cabinet key. Front left is just my phone. Back right is work badge. Back left is typically where I collect receipts without realizing it. I also have a pen pocket by my right knee which always has a pen
I just picked up AC valhalla after 3 years of not touching it due to the stupidity of the game. There really isn’t anything stealthy or assassin like except the mini quests that max out the difficulty settings that can’t be adjusted and since you don’t really play stealth having these sections turned to max made me say it’s not worth the effort. I play on the easiest setting so that I can enjoy a relaxing experience and feel like I’m progressing with my insanely small amount of time I have I don’t wanna be replaying levels 15 times in a row.
And I know what everyone is gonna say and while I agree it’s a series I use to love even well after it got terrible. I’m just doing me in my own world not interested in all the multi-player games out there.
Just had a conversation with my buddy who does security and hes adamant the only reason prices are going up is because of theft. I asked what came first the jump in thefts or the price gouging to which his tuned swapped to “They gotta pay to get these locked shelves and they keep reducing security head count” which of course I had to explain that the one time purchase of the cabinet is immensely cheaper than head count so based off that the prices should actually be dropping by installing them.
Ever since smartphones exploded the expectation to respond IMMEDIATELY is out of control. Anyone who gets my number I warn them they’ll be left on read for days if not weeks at a time. If it’s important I’ll respond but otherwise it’s whenever I get time to decompress and respond. I’ve got a buddy who I love we respond to each other every other week mostly. We will even have calls in between. People really get entitled to others time and it’s insane.
I know someone’s gonna say it but no the entitlement wasn’t even remotely as bad with the older phones. Smartphones began putting pressure to respond because it was easier and then they introduced the “seen” option followed by the “typing” option.
Fell into traffic as a kid and got hit by a car mirror on the back of my head. Split my noggin wide open. Showers were the most painful part. My parents would put a chair in the shower for me to sit in while one of them held me up because the pain was so bad I’d pass out. The shampoo was prescribed to me and it was like lava on my head.
If you can’t scan your groceries at self check out under 3 minutes go to a register when it’s busy. You’re people are holding the rest of us up. I can scan a full cart faster than some can scan their 10 items.
I guess technically my KOL. account.
Here’s a question for everyone who’s old enough, what is KOL and what happens to it when you turn a certain age? I’ve yet to meet or hear of anyone knowing this answer.
This is of course only my opinion but I want it much bigger but maybe not the size of reddit. I like being able to have a problem and going into the specialized community to ask the pros. Online searching is currently slowing down results. AI searches will tell someone to use an outlet to fix a pipe and if someone searching for something they don’t know may try figuring out why their pipe doesn’t even have a plug. I also like to research into things HEAVILY and having a community where I can sift through thousands of posts to form an idea of what I’m looking to learn is nice.
With that said I can’t knock lemmy any because the community that has 150 people will have 125 of them respond to anything you post.
I don’t watch either but those people could have just said no or sold it without having to register it and pay the taxes at that time. It be their own fault for financially ruining themselves.
Going out in public. When you’re young you really don’t notice just how fucking stupid people are. It gets to the point you actively avoid being in groups of people due to the overwhelming amount of stupid. Shopping trips go from whenever you want to aiming for when the store opens or just before close so the hoards of fools are less likely to be around.
My realtor told us on the first day "just scribble in the rough shape of your name, you’ve gotta do 500 signatures may as well be consistent "
My wife and I were gonna order stamps to do it but that’s not allowed.
Many MANY years ago when I was a child I woke up to use the restroom and my parents were sitting on the floor not realizing I had gone to the bathroom until after and as I came out they had me go over to them on the floor and I fell asleep on their laps. It wasn’t for DECADES later that I learned what had happened. There was a drive by and they were waiting on the cops to show up. 4 houses were hit. I fell asleep and got moved back into my room just before the cops got there
API I followed sync for reddit here. If LJ ever abandons the app I’ll probably be gone from here as well but I don’t see that happening
I went to one that had a random box of dunkin Donuts 12ct that clearly had gone through their break room and nobody wanted the rest lol
I disagree. Lemmy is a very small group of individuals and these type of threads are going to have similar minded people finding eachother. In the grand scheme of things we are next to nothing in scale of the billions of people on this planet.
Someone secretly took a photo of someone else because they didn’t like the shirt and sent it to so many people not realizing they all liked the person and immediately told them. He had HR involved within minutes and she was fired. All of that happened in about 20 minutes of the photo being taken. There is a strict policy on photos of other people at work that has its own training we all do annually.
For those wondering about the shirt
