14·5 months agoI ditched reddit for Lemmy during the whole API crackdown bs. I’ve only used Voyager, but it seems quite comparable to RIF, which is the only way I ever viewed reddit.
41·7 months agoCarpet is much more resilient to moisture, as long as it gets dried back out - that’s why it’s so popular in basements. Tile and vinyl plank also hold up really well to lots of moisture. Wood Is ok with humidity, it will expand and contract, but immersion will destroy it.
Albeit in a well climate controlled area. High humidity isn’t good for bamboo. I used to work with a manufacturer whose warranty for bamboo floors had high requirements for humidity, which basically eliminated my area if you like to keep your windows open. If you are in a well climate controlled area, it’s awesome and renewable.
11·9 months agoThat is true. I say this because there is money that flows in through intermediaries(though still illegal, undoubtedly happens), but I also incorrectly conflated monetary support for foreign interests with money from foreign entities - my apology.
I voted third party for my congressional rep. I have the privilege of living in a solid blue district and I did it is a protest, but also because I like the candidate more than the blue candidate. I voted for my favored candidate in the primary, but she lost to a heavily AIPAC funded candidate. I disagree with Israel’s actions and the amount of foreign money in domestic elections. I’ve told very few people this, whether in person or online - more than anything I want it to represent statistical dissent. I would never consider my vote if there were an even remote possibility of the right winger taking the seat.
Really? First thing I do after a power outage is turn off the sound on the microwave. I’m not putting stuff in for hours, I’ve not forgotten about it. If I’m not taking it out of the microwave immediately it’s because I’m busy. Settle down, machine.
