Senior Chief Petty Officer. Starfleet is in my blood, and I’ve spent my entire adult life in service to boldly going.

Keiko and Molly are my favorite humans, but Transporter Room 3 will always be my favorite.

Just don’t ask who what’s in the pattern buffer.

  • if the characters behave too unnatural

    My wife doesn’t get this.

I can’t stand watching some movies because every part of the movie is just one character doing something unnatural or outright insane that nobody would ever do, and the people around them react in similarly unnatural and insane ways.

And certain old movies (especially holiday oriented ones) that lean heavily into the “everyone here is a bumbling idiot” trope crank this up to 11.

If you enjoy said things, awesome. Good for you. Keep watching them, it literally does not affect me. I’m genuinely glad you have entertainment. I just won’t watch it with you.

Five) is a good one. Like “oh shit… I fucked this one up too much, I guess I’ll see how it turns out but I’m gonna start over with a new batch”

I’d love to see someone more creative with writing than me do some writing prompts with that premise. Maybe have someone from this universe ascend or something and actually confronts god as they’re spending time with their new family creation.

六> is also a good one, it reminds me of the idea that every single person is God. And when all of humanity has finally lived and died, god will become a single consciousness and join the rest of their kind. It kind of pairs poetically with Carl Sagan’s Pale Blue Dot.

The way I figure it, one of a few possibilities is true:

1 there is a god. He lets all the bad shit happen, and therefore isn’t worthy of dedication.

B: there is no god. Shit happens. Nobody is there to be worthy of dedication.

III- there is a god. It kicked off the big bang and sat back to watch. Either it has the ability to affect positive change and doesn’t, or it can’t. In which case, it’s still not worthy of dedication.

The end result is the same for me

  • I’ve actually been stopped by uniformed officers minutes after spotting the absolute most obvious undercover cop in the world in Ohio.

My crime? I said “Good Morning OFFICER!” really loud as I passed him at the park. There were a lot of people walking around for an art festival and supposedly the local PD got a “tip” it was being used to hide “illegal liberal activities”

Dude was wearing preshly pressed clothing that looks like he literally bought it from Abercrombie that morning. Basically the whole outfit says “I am trying to fit in, this is what we see you people as, look at how hip and cool I am fellow kids” and the haircut was so out of place I literally did a double take.

COPS don’t know how to not be cops, even when they’re trying their hardest to pretend so they can catch people doing mysterious and vague criminal things.

  • In theory, I agree. Nuclear weaponry should never exist. The power to erase millions of people with a single push of a button is absolute insanity.

In practice, the world isn’t going to suddenly decide to de-arm itself and dismantle every nuke. So if they aren’t giving up theirs, refusing to make my own over that just leaves me another corpse on the moral high road.

Sometimes I wonder if the world would be a better place had the Manhattan project been sabotaged by the scientists and nuclear weapons were deemed unfeasible. I’d like to think so.

  • People talk about being there “for” someone. Here being there “with” him is more important.

When I’m depressed, having someone sitting on the couch in my living room scrolling on their phone is infinitely more meaningful to me than someone who is miles away and texting me a lot or offering to help with things. It’s probably part of my neurodivergence but having the person close in proximity while at least sort of paying attention to the room makes me feel less alone than having 10 people trying to check in on me all day.

  • Comments like this are one of a few things.

Bad faith, and useful idiots intentionally trying to keep people from wanting to go out and vote, which only helps MAGAts.

And dumbass, blind as shit privileged people who think nothing has changed in the last decade because you’re simply not part of the target groups yet.

Life is so much worse for so many people because of Trump and to pretend like it wouldn’t get worse with a second presidency (you know, the one where they intend to destroy democracy and the voting process and have said as much and have documents detailing how they plan to do it) is simply idiotic.

  • Honestly there isn’t a legitimate reason.

    Tldr “tradition” and insecurity, probably.

There was once a issue with Cuba a long time ago, but that got resolved and the US just decided to keep punishing Cuba as, in my opinion, a warning to other neighbors who would dare oppose it. “help out our opponents and get smothered”

The only reason it’s continuing is because of weak administrations thinking that admitting people who ran the country in the past were wrong somehow makes them or the country look weak.

Honestly the only thing that seems weak to me is continuing to kick someone who’s been down for decades but still manages to find areas to flourish and be better than the “superpower” that’s kicking it.

  • republicunts torching ballot boxes

Media: lol funni fire nothing wrong here move along

one non-citizenry tries, unsuccessfully, to vote, and it’s caught immediately and prompts further investigations

Media: Here’s 147 people all telling you how the democrats are rigging the election, and 27 of their closest relatives get on the phone to say they heard from their cousins step-sisters aunt’s coworker’s college roommate that there’s TONS of fraud all over the place. Stay tuned. This is all we will be covering for the next week.
