Senior Chief Petty Officer. Starfleet is in my blood, and I’ve spent my entire adult life in service to boldly going.

Keiko and Molly are my favorite humans, but Transporter Room 3 will always be my favorite.

Just don’t ask who what’s in the pattern buffer.

  • In theory, I agree. Nuclear weaponry should never exist. The power to erase millions of people with a single push of a button is absolute insanity.

In practice, the world isn’t going to suddenly decide to de-arm itself and dismantle every nuke. So if they aren’t giving up theirs, refusing to make my own over that just leaves me another corpse on the moral high road.

Sometimes I wonder if the world would be a better place had the Manhattan project been sabotaged by the scientists and nuclear weapons were deemed unfeasible. I’d like to think so.

  • People talk about being there “for” someone. Here being there “with” him is more important.

When I’m depressed, having someone sitting on the couch in my living room scrolling on their phone is infinitely more meaningful to me than someone who is miles away and texting me a lot or offering to help with things. It’s probably part of my neurodivergence but having the person close in proximity while at least sort of paying attention to the room makes me feel less alone than having 10 people trying to check in on me all day.

  • Comments like this are one of a few things.

Bad faith, and useful idiots intentionally trying to keep people from wanting to go out and vote, which only helps MAGAts.

And dumbass, blind as shit privileged people who think nothing has changed in the last decade because you’re simply not part of the target groups yet.

Life is so much worse for so many people because of Trump and to pretend like it wouldn’t get worse with a second presidency (you know, the one where they intend to destroy democracy and the voting process and have said as much and have documents detailing how they plan to do it) is simply idiotic.

  • Honestly there isn’t a legitimate reason.

    Tldr “tradition” and insecurity, probably.

There was once a issue with Cuba a long time ago, but that got resolved and the US just decided to keep punishing Cuba as, in my opinion, a warning to other neighbors who would dare oppose it. “help out our opponents and get smothered”

The only reason it’s continuing is because of weak administrations thinking that admitting people who ran the country in the past were wrong somehow makes them or the country look weak.

Honestly the only thing that seems weak to me is continuing to kick someone who’s been down for decades but still manages to find areas to flourish and be better than the “superpower” that’s kicking it.

  • republicunts torching ballot boxes

Media: lol funni fire nothing wrong here move along

one non-citizenry tries, unsuccessfully, to vote, and it’s caught immediately and prompts further investigations

Media: Here’s 147 people all telling you how the democrats are rigging the election, and 27 of their closest relatives get on the phone to say they heard from their cousins step-sisters aunt’s coworker’s college roommate that there’s TONS of fraud all over the place. Stay tuned. This is all we will be covering for the next week.

  • It could be a sign they’re gearing for all out war economy in preparation of a massive offensive on multiple fronts…

Or it could be a sign their already not great corruption-riddled military absolutely screwed the pooch in terms of (not) maintaining things and pocketing the money, and now to compensate for what needs replaced as well as current losses, a large portion of their economy has to be diverted in order to keep from being completely demolished on the front lines.

In no way does that mean “Russia is facing imminent defeat”, just that they have to focus on making guns and ammo to replace what’s being lost and can’t focus on other things right now.

  • Legit, my old job required a 90-day change, and I once logged into a system I could do monetary damage on with ease, because I took a guess at my manager’s password based on how long it had been since he told it to me during an emergency.

He did what every single person I spoke to did. “password 01” changed to “password 02” and I just tried twice, and sure enough he had changed it three times since he had told me.

While I wouldn’t be ruining the company as a whole, I could have easily fucked over the individual location because scheduled password changes just ensure people use predictable passwords.
