“Cauliflower”

Haven’t tried this yet, so not sure anything is live, but am hopeful

Yep! In fact, I got so nostalgic about it, I have been playing it on PCSX2 in recent weeks 😅

Gahds the news cycle is so ridiculous now. Forgot about this asshat.
“The AI hallucinated the brutality, your honor.”
“Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, just because they’re a dissident that speaks out often against authority who we clearly would like to silence doesn’t mean the AI is biased in its assessment of their guilt.”
See whatcha did there lol

Did this as well! But, we used sous vide turkey breast, and only made enough fixings for the sandwich instead of making the whole meal first (there’s only two of us). Had the leftover sandwich for Thanksgiving dinner!

I cycle when I can, I have a 20mi loop on trails I can do, but fell way short of my goal for this year. I also am trying to restart regular yoga classes with my partner at our gym, where we also climb and lift weights. Hiking is good too, or even just walking our neighborhood. Eating healthy (we focus on protein and whole food/plant based, but not completely vegetarian), and I’ve been tryin to cut back on the whiskey and beer but it’s just so good and shit is just so depressing in the world lately…

Learned on a 2000s era VW Beetle, and then a Mazda B2500 FW/2WD. Last manual I owned was a 2015 Honda Fit. Now both our vehicles are Automatic AWD.
I did get to drive a little 4cyl manual SEAT on holiday in Madeira which was an adventure. 36% grade roads, hairpin turns – like 150cc mario kart around there

Got my wife to use Ffox with uBlock origin! I have a raspberry pi waiting to be a pihole (again). Took it down to troubleshoot a while ago and left it off. I’d really like to set up more of a “digital homestead” as a friend calls it–just need time, money, and money.

It was pseudo-3D, I remember reading an article about how they made the sprites, but can’t find that… wikipedia has
Donkey Kong Country was one of the first games for a mainstream home video game console to use pre-rendered 3D graphics
and they used SGI workstations to create the models and animations before compressing/converting them to 2D sprites
Rare invested their NES profit in Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI) Challenge workstations with Alias rendering software to render 3D models. It was a significant risk, as each workstation cost £80,000.
(sharing bc I thought that’s a crazy amount of money for 1992)
Definitely keep it, looks great!

☝️I also have this question.
I’m on programming.dev, and like it here! But also I have been thinking I would like to create a snowboarding community, ane it doesn’t really fit the vibe… so I’ll have to go do it on a separate instance probably.

Went climbing at the gym, went snowboarding, working on setting up the *arr stack + kodi on a raspi5 for a friend. I’m curious to see how well it performs with downloading and serving video content. Getting a (pretty old, well-used creality) 3d printer out of it… new hobby??

I paid for Kagi for a while and many of my coworkers use it. It’s a solid and growing engine that’s getting a a lot right re: creating good UX and generating search results (which should be the goal of a search engine, *sigh).
That said, l use SearxNG daily nowadays because it’s decentralized and privacy-focused. You can use any of the public instances or host your own if you like.
Here’s an example of the search results for “Neuroscience” on the instance I use.
Plus one for posteo. I’ve used them for several years now and have had no issues
In the US: 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath; 3 stories since the basement is finished. The basement has my office and the (giant) couch + TV along with the half-bath, guestroom, laundry and a storage closet for mostly outdoor gear. Ground floor has a bedroom where our roommate lives (helping him get out of credit card debt), bathroom, kitchen, dining. Upstairs is the main suite: just my wife’s and my room with attached bath and closet.
House has an attached 2-car garage and a big 3-4 car driveway as well, though overall the lot is pretty small by suburban standards in our area (<0.25 acre). Have two tiny dogs, and lots of plans for upgrades and remodels.

I joined a climbing gym after learning how to climb, belay and rappel for a week. I love learning knots, so that’s fun, but also all the terminology and techniques. Plus there’s a whole social aspect to it (climbers tend to be pretty friendly). Turning out to be a healthy and exciting new hobby!
Also @fool I remember learning to whistle as a kid–my dad was slightly annoyed he had shown me how to do it because I wouldn’t stop whistling the main themes from Indiana Jones and Star Wars

I’m glad to see this is still around: https://exercism.org/
helped me learn when I was starting out 7-8 years ago
Went outdoor rock climbing this past weekend and a group brought their bearded dragon (“Chubby”) up to the crag with them
