When I was in the US the “dedicated room” was the handicapped toilet with a chair in it, exactly this setup.
Probably for women who need to breastfeed or use those pumps while at work. Because besides not having parental leave somehow the states also does not require a room to be provided for such things.

For lg tv users, see this old reddit post for how to get adfree youtube working on your tv:
Ad-free YouTube webOS app
Some days ago I’ve found an easy peasy method to sideload a modified ad-free YouTube IPK file to all LG OLED TVs from year 2020 on (so from line CX/GX on), but I got feedback here that with C9 TVs it works too.
You need a computer with either Windows or macOS (I believe an iPad might do the job too) connected in the same network.
First we have to create a free LG webOS developer account at https://webostv.developer.lge.com/login (you can change language if it’s not yours), but if you already have a normal LG account just login with it so to enable also the developer account.
Now as a one time process go to your TV and from the Content Store download the app Developer Mode (made by LG itself).
Launch it, put in your dev login details and enable Dev Mode Status.
You will be asked to reboot so do it.
At next reboot enter again that app, enable also Key Server and note down IP address and passphrase both displayed on the left side.
Uninstall the official YouTube app from the TV (you won’t be able to run the modified app without doing this).
Go to your computer and head to https://github.com/webosbrew/dev-manager-desktop/releases to download and install the latest release of Device Manager for webOS.
Follow the instructions at GitHub to setup a session to connect to your TV (basically give it a name, enter both the IP and the passphrase I told you to note down before and you are done) and connect to the TV.
If everything went well you should be connected so while having selected Apps in the left panel be sure to select also Available on top.
Look for Homebrew Channel in the list and click Install.
Go again to your TV, launch Homebrew Channel and there you will be able from now on to install or update YouTube AdFree and several other apps like ie. Hyperion for webOS.

I hope they were native squirrels! The netherlands almost had an escaped-pet-turned-invasive-species problem because some imported squirrels escaped.

I would love having a squirrel as pet. Unfortunately most squirrel types don’t do well in captivity because they are too anxious. I nursed a baby squirrel once as a volunteer and it would just sleep in my shirt pocket or bra and be the cutest little thing until it was old enough to start learning to be a wild squirrel.

Not to say fiber isn’t important, but I feel like the high protein crowd is making a shift to fibermaxxing and we will have stupid (ultraprocessed) high fiber products pushed to us instead of high protein soon. Unfortunately there is little money to be made on us all eating our fruit and veggies.

When we feel out of control we often hyperfocus on something we can (somewhat) control, like diet.

I heard of a dog in our local dog park who ran into a stone bench so hard he broke his skull and died, so please try to teach your dog not to do that. If you reward his head hitting behavior by taking him for a walk he will keep doing it. Try to teach him something else instead, easiest is that he has to stop hitting his head, give you a paw and only then do you take the leash. Eventually (hopefully) he will paw at you instead if running into stuff when he wants to go out.

The point is that if there weren’t a lot of cars around you would probably not be living the way you are living now.

Noone calls anyone stupid, lazy or insane in an attempt to accurately describe them. They are all insults used on normal AND neurodivergent people or to describe “bad” behavior.
Also, occasionally I might make a stupid choice. And I know it is harder for me to make the right choice because of how my brain is wired, but it is still objectively the stupid choice and I knowingly show stupid behavior. Although I might have compassion for myself because of my neurodivergence, it doesn’t change the fact that my behavior is stupid.

I actually like geology. But yeah, my main interest is moleculair biology. The thought that so many interesting things are happening in every cell of my body all the time just to keep me alive is so much more interesting to me than stars exploding.

Space science. I’m well educated with lots of nerdy friends, and I should know the basics of physics concerning planets and stuff. But I don’t and I refuse to.

My boyfriend and I share a spotify account and when one of us notices the other one is listening we insert the song into the queue. Most of the time my boyfriend doesn’t even notice he is getting rickrolled.

It’s a great experience! I did a lot of solo travelling by train, bike or even hiking as a girl of 17-25 years old in europe. In my experience 99% of people are super nice and helpful and most people that weren’t had an issue with me not speaking the local language or were drunk at the time (daydrinkers, I did not go out to clubs or cafes at night on my own). Italy was the only place where I constantly felt unsafe as a woman, and they unfortunately have a bad record. Other countries I visited include czech republic, romania, hungary, austria, france, spain, belgium, germany and the uk, with no issues (I’m dutch).
Some considerations: While travelling you have noone to watch your bags, so make sure your luggage fits with you in a toilet stall and that you can store your bags somewhere the moment you get someplace. Travelling as light as possible improves the whole experience. There will be a lot of lonely time especially while travelling between places/hostels, so bring a good book or podcast, but also be prepared to enter into random conversations with strangers. With stuff like train delays that are only announced in the native language, it’s good if you have the confidence to ask around for help.
There are more reasons than just brain rot for not wanting to spend 20 minutes of your free time watching a video about popcorn settings on microwaves.

Cycling anywhere in the netherlands and getting more than 1 meter of elevation per km classified as a hilly route in my book.
Muscles are so attractive though, most gymbros just overdo it. I’m thinking more greek god/statue, less Arnold.

In Lambada by Kaoma there is a part where every dutch person hears “what is that little zebra dog for?” And everyone sings along for that sentence when the music is playing.
In dutch it goes: lalalalala waar is toch dat zebrahondje voor.
I use a mini-fork (dessert fork?)
