Sunshine (she/her)@lemmy.caOPto Games@sh.itjust.works•Stop Killing Games ExplainedEnglish11·4 days agoThe conditions in the US are much more difficult to get the government to regulate that games be kept in a playable state. However if this initiative succeeds then the industry would have to apply the same rules globally in order to keep the legal stuff simple.

Sunshine (she/her)@lemmy.cato Fediverse memes@feddit.uk•Too all the .ee users going down with the ship 🫡English7·5 days agoI have the opposite problem I receive so many dms on Lemmy and Matrix as I need to respond to them eventually but then the call of the void to post more gets me. Everyone is so talkative here.
I also tend to see the same individuals on a regular basis, I really do feel the companionship. Like when I talk about Manitoba with ValueSubtracted@startrek.website.

The best feeling is when you create a new comm and it becomes like this after posting for a while.
The competitive races are always the most fun! Here’s to the year of the linux desktop!
Sunshine (she/her)@lemmy.cato Progressive Politics, Gun Control, Single Payer Healthcare and Free Abortions for All!@lemm.ee•My experience as the original mod of this community.7·7 days agoI’m glad you tried out the threadverse, as it is always worthwhile to take your destiny into your hands by setting up your own comm to discuss a topic freely. It can happen sometimes where the instance’s culture, laws and/or users conflict with the purpose of the comm, I usually take notes and set up shop elsewhere if the conditions are better. Not to mention the drama on the fediverse can really hurt as It feels more personal with all the transparency involved. You have to block and reduce contact from the problematic individuals to make things more manageable. It is a learning experience worth engaging with.
If you want to continue with Lemmy I would suggest finding a more conservative bloc of instances to be and maybe setup your own to connect with them one day. A good way to look for one is by checking Lemmy Explorer and reading the name and rules of each instance to determine which one would one would be the best fit.
Good luck in your community building journey!
It’s honest work trying to bring the conversation to the threadverse!
Sunshine (she/her)@lemmy.caOPto Fediverse memes@feddit.uk•Reporting Users Can Be A Gamble Sometimes!English6·8 days agoThat’s the neat thing all 3 groups are summoned at once.
Lemmy reports works like this: the report you make is sent to the moderators of the community, the admins of your home server, the admins of the server the community is hosted on and the admins of the server of the reported user.
