I think the coolest part of this era was the ICs were developing so fast that in a short amount of time there were more powerful chips on the fucking cartridges than in the base system, so as new games came out they extended the capabilities more and more.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Those that sleep in bed with a significant other, how do you deal with snoring?English
8·12 days agoIf I fall asleep on my back I will probably start to snore, she will poke me and I will probably roll onto a side without waking up and stop snoring.
Today we’re going to use a lot of crimson, start with your knife edge…

Patient Gamers@sh.itjust.works•Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week?English
6·21 days agoAlmost done with fallout 3. It got a lot more fun when I realized I can just drop the difficulty when I run into bullet sponge enemies and put it back to normal after they’re all dead. It feels like an invulnerability glitch or something when fighting them and it’s just unfun. The main story is neat though.

To be clear, not under copy protection but is there some other protection from impersonation such as fraud?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is that one software that you are using for 10 years and still loving it?English
1·1 month agoIf you tried 10 years ago it’s like a completely different app now. Comparable to Blender was clunky to use until suddenly it’s everyone’s favorite. I think QGIS is moving in that direction.

To pay them less? That’s so fucked up.
I hadn’t opened acrobat in like a year, I usually let my browser handle pdf viewing but about a week or two ago acrobat somehow became the default pdf viewer on my work computer. I was greeted with a half page banner about AI, then when that is dismissed there is a persistent menu at the bottom for AI covering part of the reading pane. And there is a brightly colored glowing AI button in the top right that clashes with my dark theme. I feel bad for professionals that are adobe hostages, seems like all their products just get worse. Really wish large organizations didn’t feel like it is required to use their trash products.

I’ve always wondered if the money saved from licenses would cover the cost of new full time employees to pick up support, it probably depends on the org size.
