  • Mental decline at advanced age can have a very sudden and dramatic impact. What matters for this election isn’t the past 3.5 years, it’s the next 5 months and following 4 years.

Biden’s effectiveness and policies are debatable in quality, but clearly he is not in the driver’s seat at this juncture. His staff, all unelected officials, are. If you’ve been happy with their performance, then you’re in luck, because the makeup of the administration is unlikely to change significantly with a new presidential ticket, especially if it’s Kamala.

  • To bury your head in the sand and continue to claim Biden is the best chance to defeat Trump is madness.

Look, I get it, the DNC has placed us in a terribly frightening position due to their unwillingness to test the president in a real primary so he could show us he’s the best choice to beat Trump, and now in the final hour we are learning that was all smoke and mirrors. Biden is way down in all the polls, and forcing him onto the ticket now means certain defeat.

We still have plenty of time to generate enormous voter enthusiasm for a new ticket, more than Biden could ever garner, and we can use that to catapult the Dems to a big win in November. Have a process where candidates debate and demonstrate how their approaches would differ from where Biden was unpopular. Use a small fraction of the campaign war chest to televise it everywhere, especially online. This should include Kamala, and she needs to prove she can maintain her delegates if she wants the nom. Let’s not make the same mistake twice. Assuming she succeeds here, she is the incumbent VP, so would maintain that theoretical advantage, but we get the tailwind of a fresh ticket with a new VP who can totally change the narrative. This is the Dems’ chance to get back in the saddle and provide a new alternative people are willing to vote for - it should be celebrated!

  • To call Zelenskyy “President Putin” at that critical moment was offensive and totally unacceptable.

Calling Kamala “Vice President Trump” is kind of hilarious though.

Both of these together paint a troubling picture. Why is Biden confusing people who are supposed to be his closest allies with those who are considered to be his bitter rivals? This was supposed to be his big press conference where he proves he’s still mentally fit to be president, and he totally blew it. Somebody get him outta there, Biden isn’t fit to be president and the sooner we can admit that and move on the better it will be for this country. The gaslighting in full denial of this is incredibly dangerous, and likely driven by whoever it is that’s actually in charge and wants to stay that way (all signs point to Jill Biden, who last I checked was not elected president.)

Apparently Biden has not had a full cabinet meeting since last year. These are the people who can invoke 25th amendment on him, and it’s looking extremely suspicious all of a sudden that he’s been avoiding them, and for such an insanely long period of time too!

For those of us who have had to support an elder family member through times of mental decline, the condition is extremely apparent now, and the administration can no longer hide it. Elders often resist or get angry when confronted about necessary changes, but it’s for their own good. In this case, it’s also so we can ward off a fascist takeover of the US. Come on dem leadership, it’s time to actually be the adults in the room and handle this.

  • Democratic politicians feel this way because they are mostly friends with their colleagues across the aisle. They all eat at the same luncheons together, hang out at the same establishments in DC, attend the same fundraisers and lobbying events.

I think the voters tend to have a different point of view from those in DC. Consider that even Republican lawmakers were running for their life on Jan6. Dem voters are growing fatigued with the constant gaslighting from the establishment politicians, and hopefully soon might provide cause for their “elected representatives” to flee as well. At this point we’ve been left with painfully few alternatives.

Lastly just want to say I do agree with full treason charges for anyone involved with Jan6. Obstruction was a laughable wrist slap, this is far too serious for such measures. The rioters kind of had the right idea but for literally all of the wrong reasons. It’s tea party republicans all over again (which was funded by Koch bros of course). Instead of addressing this in a serious manner, Dems considered doing nothing at all for 2 years before they finally started bringing the wrong charges. Pathetic.
