Do you have DOCP/XMP/Expo (whichever your board may call it) turned on? If so, you might want to try turning it off and see if the crashes stop (or at least get reduced). RAM could be fine but just not stable, which a BIOS update might help. Also might help in the event that your board is one of those that have had issues recently with the X3D CPUs. There is always a chance that the GPU might be faulty. Which I don’t know how to best test for that short of just trying an old one (or a friend’s if they have their old one).

One thing that infuriates me with job interviews is how they will write you off the second you are late. But they sure as hell can be late by as much as they want. And will treat you like shit if they are in a rush, or if they forgot about your scheduled time slot (had this happen with a phone interview that I even proved to the receptionist that I had in fact followed the instructions). They should be required to pay the person being interviewed for each hour (rounded up even if just 15min) wasted or their own lateness.

Let them continue to care more about “not rocking the boat” or whatever head in the ground shit they refuse to face. I will keep interacting with co-workers, friends, family, and the random strangers that ask me about my PLA hat or my hammer/sickle lapel pin after I have helped them (never a bad interaction even from folks wearing lots of USA flags on their shirts/hats after they see how much I really cared about their problem). It is about being okay with having those interactions, and being a real human with real concerns. Of course I will also keep getting ammo and get better with my aim. No centrist/moderate or fascist will take me, my comrades, or my arms without a fight. There are plenty of things that finding a middle ground is fine, but not genocide and not continuing the oppression of the working and the poor.

I understand the catch 22 of it. But they are already doing crackdowns, and even without this, they have already planned more crackdowns. So it means that being afraid/concerned about potential crackdowns only really helps the Zionists/fascists. Just like the Dems always being concerned about how the Republicans will react makes them not actually accomplish anything ever. Never bothered to force things like Roe v Wade into official law when they had chances and just kept it as just an up in the air thing. There are very much times and places for trying “good faith” efforts. But they mean nothing and get stomped on if you already know the other side is “bad faith” only.

For daily use of temps, I found it best to just switch my apps and stuff to use Celsius. Then just made a point to take mental notes as to see what the current temps were on my devices. Especially when it was feeling too hot or cold. On days that felt nice, would see what temps they were and just kind of learned what ranges were between them (I tend to find 16-23C to be fine warm temps).

I can’t say exactly what the temps in Fahrenheit directly. But can give a range for friends and co-workers if they happen to ask me what the temps are outside (they obviously take the Celsius value as not helpful but they know I am going to give them). I can say that for me the “exposure therapy” of just using Celsius has been much easier than things like distance. I can kind of handle thinking of static distances, but I am not able to translate active things like speed.

The end goal of Communism is for what we know as “the state” to wither away as peoples of all nations learn to function together. Each state that exists currently must choose Socialism. Be it revolution with words and actions, or by a armed uprising to force out those that refuse to stop supporting the dictatorship of the bourgeois.

All acts of revolution are an exertion of authority/will over what exists. Anarchists believe (at least very generally speaking, but I will yield my own lack of understanding) that “the state” should go away from the jump. Which from a Communist or non-anarcho versions of Socialism/Communism perspective doesn’t work at the scale of whole nations that we have. Especially while the bulk of everyday people still need things they already know or need to function as they learn to place peoples’ needs over profits. Being fair, this mass learning is crucial for all versions of anti-capitalist/imperialist political spectrum.

Though I can see how real dedicated Anarchists that hold the revolutionary spirit and the will to put in the very hard work could happen in smaller scales. Like in getting folks in rural areas to collectivize various farms to grow and rotate crops and everyone that can contribute work/resources. Or in small towns where everyone already kind of knows everyone to some level. Small towns with lots of rural areas around them would be like the best option of course.

The fact that it all came from just brainstorming while baked on a podcast and then just doing the thing is what I respect about it. It didn’t need to be something that the majority of people would like. It stuck to the layout basically completely, and didn’t give a fuck. Was also cool that the actors really committed to the bit.

Thanks for the recommendation! I will give it a try sometime. My typing has gotten better over the years since that job. Mostly due to having co-workers at my current job being faster. Just depends on if I am typing out notes that are basically the same and needing to get things closed at the last minute. lol

Since you at least know the layout. Typing of the Dead can be fun for forcing you to start using more fingers as things come at you. I needed to force myself to get better in order to make sure I could pass a timed typing speed and accuracy test for a data entry job. Played it a little every night for at least a week before my interview. I was still kind of slow, but was much more accurate. Which got me into a position that corrected or found missing information from the main data entry folks. If arcade zombie games aren’t your thing, there are some other good games mentioned in the other comments.

Installing cracked Photoshop is basically a rite of passage for many. My first cracked program was Photoshop 6 that my photography friend gave me back in high-school when I was stuck on dial-up and they had cable.

Good to know that you actually give options a try (every now and then I try Photoshop to see how it works and new things). So many people will just hate on things just because they just hear that they are bad. One of my friends does photography and hates how Photoshop being a subscription costs so much. But refuses to bother checking-in on GIMP or other options. Even Lightroom alts are deemed not worth it just from muscle memory it seems. Which I do at least understand, but even just checking on options can mean having fall-backs if suddenly needing them. I doubt Adobe will just go away, but they can always make costs higher and higher which price people out.

It would be good if more UI/UX minded folks that actually use Photoshop/Lightroom but hate Adobe’s sub models were to help out. Even just giving good input and follow-up with why or how those things could work is a starting point. Devs and creatives need each other for making projects/products like GIMP into options that more people would use for real.

I don’t do much editing (certainly not fancy stuff with heavy use of all the tools), but there is a pretty good mod/patch PhotoGIMP that makes it present similar to Photoshop. It isn’t that old GIMP-shop one that might have malware. Doesn’t fix the missing stuff that power-users need, so no go for many of them. But the UI is much better than the main version of GIMP. Just have to apply the mod/patch after installing GIMP.

I am okay with it so long as it is at least using the real/translated words, and would be best if it was possible to have like dual audio/visual options in the same file. Or al least have clickable links to source files. I think it can (and that is a big “can”) be very useful for getting more people exposed to more things that they would likely not bother with because of not wanting to read. Or more specifically helpful for folks that can’t read (like vision impaired) which a normal video doesn’t have a good option for a screen reader program. Just really depends on how it is used or abused.

It seems to just be one of those AI that makes foreign language sound and video seem as though it was actually done in English. So that is why it says it is dubbed and the visual lines up with the audio.

Good to know information, I haven’t looked into it beyond installing it to see how similar it was. Still could be a starting point for some folks that have the option to self-host and more specifically have large friend groups that have issues with only liking the UI of Discord. A very specific scenario for sure, but still nice to have options if one like that were to happen.

Not federated, but Revolt can be self-hosted and is very similar to Discord in the look and feel from what I have seen (I have it installed, but haven’t tried getting friends to install it and am not hosting). So it could be worth looking into for folks that are used to Discord.

That one is what I thought of too. But I wonder what extra issues it would cause. If they are profiting off people uploading things that they don’t have the rights to (which I would imagine is still most of it), then it seems like it would be easier to go after reddit itself. Though I am only guessing and don’t know actual laws. The other issue is that porn is the thing that main stream sites that like to act like they are “clean” go after first. Which would mean a possible second mass exodus of users/traffic. Just like Verizon found out real fast when they tried to “clean up” Tumblr. Though I would guess reddit does have enough non-NSFW users and content to weather it much better.

Being fully transparent, I really only ever spend time on reddit when looking for such content since it is much safer from malware ads and fake links. Also better categorized for really specific interests with 4chan levels of daily users posting. Aside from that, I imagine that I will also be impacted by so many old threads that happen to have randomly crucial answers to very specific tech or misc (non-NSFW) problems I am dealing with. It is already very frustrating to get hit with their “You look sus and IP will be banned unless you sign in” warning screen if I happen to be not signed in and having all the ad/tracking blocking extensions and a VPN turned on.
