Who cares?
“I’m knittin’ like a fuckin electric nan”

Who cares?
Oh hell yeah! I’ve been dying to install a browser that doesn’t support uBlock Origin.

I think it clearly is helping. Signal is a mature, polished project. It is first-class. The infrastructure is obviously well-funded. As for other projects, I also wish they had more money but I don’t think it’s useful to criticize Signal for the fact that they don’t.

I agree that’s quite a lot of money. I’m not sure what if any the cap should be. I guess my attitude is that if they are bringing in so much money, and everyone working there is getting a fair cut… then power to them? I don’t donate either, though I’ve been using Signal since before it was called that. I remember when they first introduced calling as a companion app called Red Phone.

We need to find a way to fund critical FLOSS. No, not like that!
Silver linings, I guess?
I hated Skyler the first time I watched it. The second time through, I felt a lot more sympathy for her character.

Iran will have access to Chinese and Russian satellite images, as well as their own “on the ground” intelligence assessments. This move is more likely meant to control public perception in the US.

Any of our news orgs simply won’t publish them.
Sadly, a lot of people have fully internalized the propaganda. Even when the white house says the reason is “fuck you, that’s why”, some people still tell me it’s about how oppressed Iranians are.

I can definitely relate to this question. The tension between self-improvement and self-acceptance. The older I get, the more I lean towards the latter. I’ve spent waaayy too long beating myself up over my faults, but never managing to correct them. Why continue feeling bad?

I support Palestine Action. From the river to the sea, Palestine must be free.
There: I’ve broken British and Australian laws.

You also don’t have to believe everything “your thought produces”. It’s very common to have thoughts that are tied to old patterns of thinking, rather than new ones you are cultivating. For example, many of us have internalized racist or transphobic attitudes. Through life, learning and experience we have come to change our minds. However, we can’t help that sometimes we have a reactive thought based in our old conditioning. You don’t simply ignore such thoughts, you address them rationally. Over time, they diminish. This is part of growth.

Thrift store boombox.
That’s also why you should keep some other delicious snacks handy. Sometimes you start feeling good and crave another brownie :)

My wife is “xennial” and her music tastes skew younger. Lots of younger artists are selling cassettes and CDs at their merch tables. We have more tapes and discs in our house than I ever had in the 90s.

It’s gotten better for me as I age. Just learn to accept yourself, flaws and all. Try to talk to yourself the way you would talk to a friend having the same feelings.
Diversity of opinions isn’t automatically good for its own sake. I’m sure with a little imagination, you can come up with all sorts of objectively stupid opinions. Are those what you want to sift through? If you have a space where you allow all opinions no matter what, you’ll end up overwhelmed by the stupidest ones. If you moderate at all, you will always be accused of bias by someone. If you doubt any of this, just start hosting your own server!
tl;dr: different places have different vibes. That’s OK. Not everywhere has to contain all opinions.
