It’s a complicated problem. The biggest privacy issues come from the use of JavaScript, but most of the time sites use JavaScript heavily and become unusable when it’s disabled. Other sites will straight up not let you access them without JavaScript.
I don’t know the answer to your question, but I have never heard of these alternative protocols. Thanks for giving me something new to go learn about.
Yeah and my guess is that they’d be less private because if they act as a transmitter, I think they could potentially be triangulated.
Yeah it’s not as secure but it has privacy advantages since there’s no 2-way communication.
They are receive only devices that work using radio signal. Messages are sent using a transmitter of some type. I understand this is a very basic description, I’m not an expert, just have an interest in telecommunications related things.
If I didn’t have a job, I’d probably still work, and I’d probably be working partly for money, partly for something to do. I just wouldn’t be answering to someone else. I think “work” is misunderstood. It doesn’t have to be a bad experience, but I understand it often is. I wish more people had jobs they liked, I think that’s a better solution.

I think for me it’s the scale of my work projects and lack of deep interest in the projects themselves. Hobby projects get started because I have some kind of interest that I want to expand on by writing some code. For instance, RF and aviation are two interests and I recently wrote an ADSB message decoder with a map kind of like flightradar24 does. That’s super interesting to me, so writing that code is fun. It’s also way smaller of a project than my work projects.
