12·29 days agoI’ve managed Duo installations. The administrator can see your phone number, your device os and version, history of authentication attempts.
Only IP address. Location days from IP address is a guess at best
Okay yea sorry, the sarcasm was whooshed on me.
I work for a multi-national IT department. I just happen to have a UK, FR and DE laptop on the workbench. I don’t see the em-dash on any of them. AltGr + hyphen does nothing on Windows (Google search says Mac supports this). None of these laptops have a numpad, but Google search says maybe CTRL+MINUS(numpad) may give an em-dash. Can’t test though.
In any case, it seems the world has left behind em-dash, so correcting users on a public forum seems pointless.
How ridiculous. I’ll just use the one on the keyboard.

31·1 month agoWhilst I don’t agree with the tactic, as like you said, if it happened to me or my family I’d be distraught. I don’t want to fight in a war.
With the Ukraine/Russian war going on so long, both sides are running out of

2·1 month agoI like to run a hypervisor host as just that, a hypervisor host. The host being stable is important, and also reduce attack surface by only having it as that.
An LXC per service is somewhat overkill. A docker host running on LXC could likely run all the docker containers.
This rings true to me. I’m a westerner and I see how geo-politics is being handled and it really is a bunch of kids.
Not trying to do whataboutism, but its important to note that the insights on how Russian population are controlled with fear is echo’d throughout the world. US and its now inbred hatred for the word “communism”, and its forced relation with Russia, etc is dissapointing.
If we manage to survive the current crisis /and/ manage to de-escelate, it will take generations of peaceful teachings for large powers to actually calm down. I find this scenerio unlikely.
I dunno if any of these count, I just did a single Google search. Perhaps it’s western lies but there seemed to be story after story of “Putin says…”
Most media is biased and none can be trusted. In reality we are all in the dark.

44·2 months agoYour PC network card keeps the connection up in order to receive wake on LAN requests.
Any link activity whilst the PC is shutdown is packets that were broadcasted to the entire network. Other PCs, DHCP requests, etc send traffic to all devices on the network. So seeing some traffic whilst it’s off is nothing to worry about.
The owner should pass the torch rather than let it die.
Have you ever had a short look at the modlog? Users getting banned from 10+ unrelated communities with reason “liberal”. All because some hater is a mod to multiple communities. Like what good does that serve?

While the word régime originates as a synonym for any type of government, modern usage has given it a negative connotation, implying an authoritarian government or dictatorship.
