Just putting interesting info out there. Kinda weird to seem defensive over that?

Sharks aren’t bothered at all. There’s probably lots of animals that respond differently than humans. I believe birds enjoy capsaicin.

tacosplease@lemmy.worldto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•I ain't got no time to maintain some stupid little plastic bread clip. I got a landlord to feed.2·2 months agoMe too, but there’s a way to make the twists easier to use.
- Hold the open end of the bag and twist the loaf to make the twisted end
- Fold the wire in half around the twisted part of the bag
- Pinch the 2 ends of the wire with one hand and hold the open end of the bag with the other hand. The bread will hang below that like a Y.
- Swing the loaf of bread in a loop around your hands 2 or 3 times like you’re making a ring with your arms and swinging the bread into it or out of it. That twists the wire around the bag.

I’m not walking around measuring people… ever since the restraining order, but just looking around it seems like guys here in the US are around 5’10" or 5’11" on average. I’m 6’2" and don’t really feel tall.
Someone else guessed maybe it’s because of the higher proportion of people from other regions where average height in their place of birth (or parents’ or grandparents’ place of birth) is shorter. Makes sense to me that our immigrants and their offspring could be bringing down average height.

tacosplease@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•They put A.I. in my truck. It warns me of everything I do wrong verbally. It reports everything to HQ. It is from a company called Solera. I take offense to this. Am I wrong? What can I do? Anything?2·4 months agoAre you in the US? I just tried that for my job and found exactly as many options as expected. I’ll give you 0 guesses how many it was.
Uni Uni likes to use “act of God” as the reason for failed delivery LOL
Set boundaries and enforce them.
I’m in my 40s and still hit my pen almost every time I pee in a store or restaurant. Nobody seems to notice and they certainly don’t care. Just be careful around smoke detectors. I set one off in my house once just hitting the pen right under it.
Used to love getting the corner of the brick and seeing it’s compressed shape LOL.

Some people have crazy testosterone levels for medical reasons. StyroPyro did a YouTube video a few months back about his testosterone levels.
Hope he’s doing alright. He didn’t know why they were elevated at the time.

Democrats suck they are not sacred cows15·7 months agoThe right will break shit to obstruct because breaking shit is also a goal of theirs. The left doesn’t have the same win-win obstruction scenario.
Barry Goldwater, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Newt Gingerich, Mitch McConnell, and now Trump (and arguably many others along the way) have been choosing self over country and intentionally breaking safeguards for longer than most of us on Lemmy have been alive. It’s indirect violence. But it’s violence regardless. And they’ve gotten away with it so far.

Not like Lemmy needs more engagement or anything but sure, no harmless tangents allowed. Got it. You guys have fun. I’m taking a break from Lemmy.
