Voyager for lemmy, jellyfin, nextcloud, home assistent, Wireguard… even lichess.

Many of the official apps like my bank don’t have ads or price either.

I don’t know how there paying to get their app on the store but there there and there free.

But not like this. Not in this climate, not until ai based tools can actually demonstrate any benefit in aiding an artist instead of trying to replace them with low quality slop.

The best lies are build on a grain of truth and that they speak out about this at all is a big tell to how they would rather move.

But we should acknowledge, npc ai, dynamic ingame weather, the decades old blending tool in Photoshop Technically many things are ai or could benefit and i don’t hear many people discuss where to draw the line exactly.

I don’t know why it works but if i rename a .webp extension into a .png or .jpg it just works.

If you want to put in some work i can highly recommend self hosting a nextcloud/owncloud, maybe together with some family members.

Something more obscure you can do is create a shareable public link with or without password to share large files with whoever you want.

On the downside, whenever i see a professional use we transfer or the like i cringe massively.

I sometimes contemplate if i rather lose an ear or an eye.

On the surface an eye seems so much more important but vision with one eye is still mostly the same vision with one corner cut out where hearing from one ear is instantly very disorienting.

I am not sure what you mean with pov that no one else’s understand because many of my European friends speak english on top of native language.

What i can attest is that each language has its own expressions, saying and emergent philosophy that is not always translatable in other languages.

There is some nuance to what exactly is banned.

I self host a vpn at my home that i use to connect to my home network on the go. This is a super common use-case and also cant be used to circumvent regional blocks.

Work also uses a vpn to securely tunnel company hardware to our servers.

A blanket ban on vpn software and technology would be ridiculously dumb. Almost as bad as blanket ban on encryption.

If they make exceptions and only ban vpn with intention to hide and circumvent the law, then you only need some legal excuse if someone comes asking and its more a morality guideline then a criminal law.

If they blanket ban “vpn technology” i would simply suggest ignoring it. Laws that stupid are too incompetent to take seriously. I recon its completely unenforceable.

Either way you’re unlikely to be investigated unless the government already has a reason to investigate you. In which case you’re probably fucked no matter how secure your internet.
