That’s not how Republicans operate. They will grill the Clintons for hours with misleading questions. When Trump is brought up that requires Trump’s testimony, Trump will ignore it and Republicans will allow Trump to ignore it.

The only good that could come out of it is if Clinton says, “I’m Bubba. Trump gave me a blow job. Then I saw him rape children.”

Can we not play these stupid games?

“When I’m in charge, ooooooh you’re so going to get it!” is the fucking rope-a-dope that’s been getting played by the American voter since Nixon. Every four fucking years we do this shit. Minority Party holds a big “Lock Them Up!” rally on the eve of the election, wins in a landslide, immediately starts doing crimes again while ushering the old boys from the prior government out the back door.

Promising to inflict vengeance on your opponents is like, the easiest thing to sell your rube base. They always fall for it. These promises are easy to believe (cause the DOJ has always had this power), attractive in a polarized partisan environment, and something people tend to forget about in a few months anyway.

Besides, it’s not like anyone can campaign on anything practical, right? We’re not going to end our overseas wars. We’re never going to implement public health care or universal college education or high speed rail or public housing. The only thing our government reliably delivers is pain.

So “I promise to inflict pain on the other team’s enemies” is all we’ve got left.
