People don’t know that the falls were effectively damned a hundred years ago. The horseshoe Falls are basically just the spillway for the hydro and pumped storage reservoirs.

Fun fact: here in Ontario we call all power “hydro” because of this. You don’t get the power/electricity bill each month, you get the “hydro bill”.

The hallucinations are my favorite part of making these things. I spend maybe 5 minutes tweaking the prompt, and I stop when it hits that sweet spot of “This tells my instincts that I should not believe what I’m seeing”. Pair it with a lie, and it’s an LLM image recognition training tool in addition to being a meme.

I mean what is niagara Falls really? It’s just falling water, I get falling water every time I take a shower and I don’t get many tourists in there.

Jim Carrey in the other hand played in the mask.

Worth it. I’ve never even seen the falls, but I’ve seen lots of Jim Carrey movies. The man deserves it, and I’m sure he’d love to be honored in this ecologically non-invasive way.

And here’s the /s for those who need it.

I needed the /s tbh. I have nothing against Carrey, but there are lots of Canadian Americans that I think are at least as deserving of statues. Though not my favorite, Nathan Fillion, as much as it pains me to admit it. Since he starred in two copprogranda shows he is no longer statue worthy.
