14·28 days agoI’m fine with DOGE, smaller government, free speech, less ‘woke’ culture, and lower taxes, but I don’t understand why everyone still seems to support Trump no matter what he does. He’s clearly mishandling trade and continuing the spending spree

I agree with Thomas Sowell on this one. Tariffs are taxes. Only positive if it is a short term negotiating tactic, but negative if he really wants to fix something you don’t have to fix (trade deficits).
I am not surprised. Socialists like taxes and tariffs are taxes.
Threatening with the death penalty might prevent copy-cat behavior. Left is out of control.
Personally I am not a big fan of death penalties. There are too many examples of people that have been sentenced by mistake. OTOH - if anyone deserves it - it is this guy.

You basically only need government for security/army. Almost everything can be done by the private sector (yes, even roads). From that perspective Argentina is more interesting than the US. I think Milei will push this agenda further than Trump.

Hard for an outsider to form an opinion. In the west is mostly propaganda or folks are so biased they don’t want to listen to another side. I was against the proxy war since day one, not because I like the Russians - it was clear from the start this could only be solved by negotiations. Even mentioning something that obvious will make you an outcast in most EU countries. It is indeed fucked up.
I was pleasantly surprised he also mentioned Cardano. I still have a few ADA on coinbase.
That is basically the answer to all the stuff DOGE eliminates and the Democrats are furious about. If you really think something is important, pay for it yourself.
It is almost criminal that these kind of projects were subsidized. The list seems to be endless.
So you think he doesn’t have a lot of support anymore in Ukraine? In the news coverage in our country they basically think everyone supports him and he is the legitimate president. In the EU he is almost worshiped.
USA was always the land of the fake smiles and fake hospitality :)
What happened?
He doesn’t have to be, but economy is pretty important and more debt, causing uncertainty and promoting less trade is not the solution. What was he thinking - start a trade-war with “the world”. 😅
