Personally, mine is joint first between Sandshrew (the cutest), Espurr (most relatable), and Gastrodon.

After those, in no particular order, I like Turtwig (best starter, fight me), the Roggenrola line (little rock guys), the Litwick line (candles and lamps with nefarious intentions), and Metagross (cool robot thing).

Kyogre is the best legendary in my opinion

Scizor! It’s annoying have a trade mon as your favorite. A lot of the games don’t give you a metal coat until late game too. What can you do

Scizor is a really interesting pokemon, and a much needed evolution to Scyther (I think they have similar stats but the better typing with Bug/Steel makes it more viable)

Steelix is also another awesome trade mon, it’s pretty much just a better version of Onix in every way. In later gens it also has a really cool mega!

I was talking to someone a month ago about this. I told them as a kid my favorite pokemon was charizard and as I got older it switched to dragonite. They said to me “so you really have a type huh?” I didn’t understand until I thought about it and realized charizard and dragonite share a lot of similarities. The former being edgier and the latter being cuter.

So apparently I really like large, orange dragons.

Always been an Arbok fan. Sure, Gen 1 he dies to Psychic really easy, but especially as we get into Gen 3/4 and you get stuff like Fire/Ice/Thunder Fang TMs as well as decent Dark moves to teach it, it becomes a nasty piece of work with some support. Plus, it gets Intimidate and I love Intimidate as an ability.

Bug types being super effective on Psychic types is always so funny to me.

I have big brain and move big things with mind, but a bug bite, it scares me.

Yeah, but the important detail in this case, was Butterfree’s base stats vs. Mewtwo’s and the fact that I hit it with a successful sleep powder and it was fast asleep for so long, that I managed to kill it with dream eater. 👻

I believe the reasoning for the weaknesses of Psychic type are based on different phobias (scared of the dark, bugs, and ghosts). Also, it makes bug types just that little bit stronger which is nice!

Gardevoir It was my first shiney and carried me through Pearl. Plus I like the idea of powerful psychics and loyalty to your friends.

Listen, friend, I was an adult before Pokémon was even a thing. Your Pokeymans are irrelevant to me, child. Irrelevant.

So why do I recognise most of gen 1 and a handful of others besides?!

    TL;DR: Psyduck
